Best Paper Award for Oral Presentation to Ms. Shruthi V, PhD Scholar, Centre for Nano-Biosensors.

  

We are proud to announce that Ms. Shruthi Venkataraman, PhD Scholar, Centre for Nano-Biosensors, SDC, SIMATS University, has been honored with the Best Paper Award for Oral Presentation (with cash prize of Rs. 2000/-) at the 5th ACE International Conference on Applied Science, Engineering, Technology and Management (AICASETM’25).

The conference was organized by Alpha College of Engineering, Thirumazhisai, Chennai, and held on 21st May 2025. Ms. Shruthi received this prestigious recognition for her outstanding research presentation titled:

“Development of Polypyrrole–Cobalt Oxide Nanocomposite Electrode for Sensitive Electrochemical Detection of Paracetamol.”

First Prize for Oral Presentation – Ms. Keerthana M (PhD Scholar, SDC, SIMATS University)

 

We are delighted to announce that Ms. Keerthana Madhivanan, PhD Scholar at Saveetha Dental College (SDC), SIMATS University, has been awarded the First Prize for Oral Presentation at the one-day National Conference on “Advanced Materials for Energy Applications and Green Strategies for Bioactive Compounds (AMEAGSSBC-2025)”.

The conference was organized by the Department of Chemistry, A.V.V.M Sri Pushpam College (Autonomous), Thanjavur, on 11 March 2025. Ms. Keerthana received this prestigious recognition for her outstanding presentation titled “Development of an Electrochemical Sensor for the Detection of Paracetamol Using Graphitic Carbon Nitride and Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes.”

First Prize for Oral Presentation – Congratulations to Mr. Gokul Sridharan (PhD Scholar, SDC, SIMATS University)

 

We are delighted to share that Mr. Gokul Sridharan has received the First Prize for Oral Presentation at the one-day National Conference titled “Innovative Minds Illuminating Future Frontiers”, organized by the Department of Chemistry (SFS), Madras Christian College, Chennai, in tribute to the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, held on 10 December 2024.

His award-winning oral presentation, entitled “Rapid Electrochemical Sensors for the Detection of Epinephrine Using PLUM/GCN Nanocomposite,” was highly appreciated for its scientific merit, innovation, and relevance.

Mr. Gokul was honored with a cash prize of ₹2,000, presented by Dr. S. Packirisamy, Deputy Director (Retd.), Propellant Polymers Chemicals & Materials Entity, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (ISRO), Thiruvananthapuram, who also shared valuable insights into the future of scientific innovation.

ECS Travel Grant Awarded to Mr. Gokul Sridharan (PhD Scholar, Centre for Nano-Biosensors, SDC, SIMATS University)

 

We are delighted to announce that Mr. Gokul Sridharan has been awarded a highly competitive ECS Travel Grant of USD 500 to participate in the 248th Electrochemical Society (ECS) Meeting, held in Chicago, Illinois, USA, from October 12–16, 2025.

At this prestigious international conference, he delivered five oral presentations and two poster presentations, based on our published research articles in RSC Advances, Journal of the Taiwan Institute of Chemical Engineers (JTICE), ECS Journal of Solid-State Science and Technology (JSSP), and ECS Sensors Plus (ECSSP).

This award is a strong recognition of the quality, originality, and impact of our research. The conference provided an excellent platform for him to showcase his work, gain valuable scientific insights, and network with inspiring scientists and professors from across the globe.

He also had the opportunity to meet and interact with Prof. Arumugam Manthiram, a pioneer in electrochemistry, whose groundbreaking contributions to battery and fuel cell research have profoundly influenced the field.

Heartfelt Congratulations to Mr. Sesuraj Balasamy 🎉

We are delighted to congratulate Mr. Sesuraj Balasamy (Centre for Nano-Biosensors, SDC, SIMATS) on his outstanding achievement at the ANRF-sponsored International Conference on SMART Materials for Innovation in Low-Carbon Energy and Environment (SMILE-2025).

The conference was organized by the Department of Chemistry, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, Chennai, in association with the Association of Chemistry Teachers (ACT), Mumbai, and was held from 12th to 13th, 2025.

Our SIMATS PhD scholar, Mr. Sesuraj Balasamy, delivered an excellent oral presentation entitled “Synthesis and Biocompatibility Assessment of Titanium Carbide MXene as a SMART Material for Sustainable Biomedical Solutions.” In recognition of his exceptional research quality and presentation skills, he was awarded the Best Oral Presentation Award.
